In 1929, the first community foundation in Texas was founded in Dallas.
Today, the Dallas Foundation is the state's largest community foundation, with more than $100 million in assets, reports the Dallas Morning News.
The foundation's mission is "to bring together people, ideas, and investments in Greater Dallas so that individuals and families can reach their full potential," says interim president and CEO Julie Diaz in a statement.
The foundation's six new board members are Tim Hafer, CFO at Kronos Worldwide; Lael Melville, CEO and co-founder of the Randolph W.
Melville Family Foundation; Susan Salka, former CEO of AMN Healthcare; Bridget Moreno Lopez, who started as a prosecutor in Dallas fighting child abuse and family violence; and Joe Schloesser, a vice president at ISN, ISN's Corporate and Business Development functions.
Underwood is the president and CEO of the SPCA of Texas.
